Radiofrequency Skin Tightening – The Way of the Future
Here at Ageless Living, we provide you with non-surgical options to tighten, rejuvenate, and remodel your skin. These treatments include the famous Forma and Morpheus8 by Inmode.
Although these two treatments work differently, their common goal is to stimulate collagen. What is collagen? Essentially collagen makes up the layers of “support structure” under our skin. So, when we start to age and lose our collagen, we begin to notice sagginess, wrinkles, and dullness. The thought of losing our collagen can be scary, luckily in 2022 we have FDA approved options to address it!
What is Forma?
Forma uses controlled energy and heat to improve skin tissue and texture, all while feeling like a hot stone massage. It is safe to use on all skin types and there is no downtime! Since the treatment is so quick, it is often referred to as a “lunch break procedure”.
Forma is best suitable for younger patients who are looking for a more tightened and defined look to their face. Forma is a yearly treatment, comprised of six treatment sessions spaced about six weeks apart to start. Although you may not require the full six sessions every year, it is recommended to have yearly maintenance to maintain results.
What is Morpheus 8 and How Does It Work?
Let’s talk about Forma’s bigger and bolder sister, the Morpheus 8. The Morpheus 8 is a deep fractional radiofrequency treatment. This non-surgical treatment is like micro needling on steroids, and the results speak for themselves. The Morpheus 8 uses a gun-like handpiece with tiny needles that penetrate the skin in grids, while administering controlled amounts of radiofrequency. This procedure heats up the tissue to stimulate collagen production.
Morpheus also reaches the fat layer, allowing the M8 to remodel the fatty tissue to create a more contoured appearance with the needles going as deep as 4mm. The multi-talented Morpheus 8 can address wrinkles, skin laxity, dull texture, acne scarring, as well as surgical scars and stretch marks. Yes, that’s right, the M8 can be used in areas other than the face!
Is Morpheus a comfortable treatment? With the mix of radiofrequency and multiple tiny needles, the M8 can be a bit spicy. You can expect to be topically numbed prior to your session, we also offer prescription medication that you may take orally beforehand after being cleared by our physician.
Results from Morpheus 8 are not immediate, as collagen takes a few months to regenerate. We always recommend a series of 3 treatments, spaced approximately 6 weeks apart to see your best results.
With the M8 being a more heavy-hitting treatment, there is a little bit more downtime. You can expect some swelling and redness for about 24-48 hours post treatment, as well as some micro-lesions in spots from the needles. You will be provided with a mini skincare kit to use for the following week.
At Ageless Living, we always advise that prior to investing in any facial treatments, you invest in your at-home skincare routine first! This means religiously applying an SPF and keeping your skin well conditioned with products specific to your skin. Our experienced and knowledgeable staff are happy to help you with any skincare needs, and remember that consultations are always free!
