What Is Epuris Acne Treatment? Find Out About The New Generation Of Accutane

What is Epuris acne treatment? The revolutionary new generation of Accutane!

Acne affects 5.6 million Canadians which is almost 20% of the population! Acne is awful to have, and quite a lot of young people, and even adults, suffer from severe acne on their face, chest, and back which is why acne treatment is important.

Acne can make people feel insecure about how they look. It can cause them to stop socializing and make them uncomfortable due to the severe amount of spots and painful pimples they have on their faces. Even redness on the cheeks and forehead can be enough to damage a person’s self-esteem.

Fortunately, there are ways to treat acne.

One of the most popular methods of treating acne is with a product called Accutane. Accutane is a medicine that when taken daily, dries out the skin and ultimately gets rid of acne. Recently Accutane has been replaced by most prescribers with a newer generation prescription called Epuris.

Epuris might be slightly different, but it still has a lot of the same qualities that Accutane has with increased effectiveness and typically less side effects. We’re going to go through everything you need to know about Epuris and how it can help your acne.

What is Epuris?

Epuris is incredibly similar and is also taken for between three to twelve months on average.

It’s used to treat severe or moderate:

  • Nodular acne
  • Inflammatory acne
  • Blackheads
  • Pustules
  • Other types of acne

It’s also used to help get rid of acne scarring and has similar side effects to Accutane, which we’ll get onto in just a moment.

One of the differences between Accutane and Epuris is the absorption rate. Epuris provides 83% greater absorption, so it works faster than Accutane, giving you clearer skin sooner.

How can Epuris help acne?

Epuris can be used to help fight against all four causes of acne:

  • Excess skin oil
  • Clogged pores
  • Bacteria on the skin
  • Inflammation

What are the side effects of Epuris?

At the lowest dose of Epuris, there aren’t really that many side effects or any side effects at all. However, as your dose increases through the course of your treatment you may encounter some side effects.

Some of the known side effects of Epuris can include:

  • Dry skin
  • Chapped lips
  • Dry eyes
  • A dry nose that may lead to nosebleeds
  • Mood changes
  • High sensitivity to the sun
  • Skin heals slower

These side effects are only temporary, and soon after you’ve finished your treatment, the side effects should go away.

It’s important to note that Epuris should not be taken if you’re pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

If you’re concerned about any of these potential issues or risks we’d recommend talking it through with your doctor before you start your treatment.

If the side effects of Epuris are too severe in your case, your doctor may take you off the treatment or reduce your dosage.

How long does Epuris take to work?

Many people who use Epuris see the first signs of healing within 4 weeks of treatment, however everyone is different – it may take a couple of months before you start seeing the effects.

Epuris treatment usually lasts between 12 to 16 weeks. Most people with severe acne notice a significant improvement after 1 or 2 courses of treatment, but may require additional courses as well.

How is Epuris taken?

Epuris comes in 10 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg, and 40 mg capsules. The dose you need will be based on your weight and acne severity. We’ll adjust your dose later, depending on your body’s reaction to the new medication.
